Hi, my name is Seta and I live in the Middle East. I am a non-conformist, dreamer, activist, and feminist. I have a deep passion for conserving the environment and safeguarding our planet for our children. I am a believer in smart and sustainable development.
I enjoy hiking as well as tasty food - especially desserts. I LOVE using my creativity in a positive way; it gives me great satisfaction to make something that pleases those dear to my heart. The joy I see in their faces is the biggest present I can wish for! I love spending time with family and friends, and sharing a good laugh.
By profession, I am a development professional specializing in communications and social marketing. In layman terms; I work on designing and implementing programs that benefit society, through targeted communications, outreach and advocacy initiatives coupled with building strong partnerships and alliances.
When I was at school, the internet was not around, nor social media platforms. As a strategic communicator, it was critical to learn these tools for they can play a powerful role in spreading knowledge about issues and practices that benefit society, and encourage social action towards a common good.
I wanted HANDS ON LEARNING! This gave birth dish-away. This blog gave me the opportunity to write about my hobby (food), engage with people who share my passion, and learn the ins and outs of some of the most popular social media platforms. An added kick was that I have access to my recipes anytime, anywhere.
As a working mom, with limited time to spare, I collected and tried quick and easy recipes. As my girls grew older and I had more spare time, I started experimenting with the more traditional Arabic and Middle Eastern dishes.
The original recipes were acquired from family, friends, colleagues, books and websites. When needed, I adapted them to be easier to prepare, healthier and suit the taste of my family. Everything that is posted by me is something that I have personally cooked and tried at home.
I hope this site will help you prepare easy yet delicious recipes to enjoy with family and friends. Many of my recipes are traditional Arabic and Middle Eastern dishes, I hope that you enjoy them as much as we do.
I will try to prepare and share as many recipes and dishes as I can, but I am a full-time working mom, plus an activist trying to push forward the agenda of sustainable development, and my free time isn't much. But, I will try to do my best to post as much as I can.
To get alerts for new recipes posted, please subscribe to the free e-mail service by following this link. You will then receive an e-mail from Feed-burner with a link to click to activate your subscription.

Have fun and happy eating :)
